#1 - Steve McCurry

STEVE MCCURRY IS AN AMERICAN PHOTOGRAPHER WHOSE BEST WORKS ARE INCLUDED THE WELL -KNOWN PHOTOGRAPH TITLED 'AFGHAN GIRL' WHICH IS FOUND IN THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE.

His photographs captures of people looking directly to his camera lens which gives an effect as if the viewers are looking at them through the fourth wall. I find this as interesting concept because it may looked simple to capture it but how the interactions and the intense body language will tell so much of a story if it is done right
He uses colors such as warm colors to tell a story and personality visually through his sight senses. I wonder what was going in his mind when taking the photographs. What was his message/ aim behind it? But I do think the narrative photography concept well executed.
Personally, I do like how Steve McCurry has the sense of simplicity in his photography as well. It makes his muses stands out. If he were to put them in a busy background, it would just hinder the main purpose of the photograph. He also shows the different ways of life. It is very inspiring and shows how beauty comes in the different forms and not just 'what we expects when we talk about beauty'. I find his photographs to be a piece of art as well.
